Workshop Manager – Diesel Generator

Job Purpose:
To oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of diesel generators, ensuring all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and within compliance standards. Responsible for managing the workshop, supervising staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring timely project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the diesel generator workshop, including repair, preventive maintenance, and testing activities.
• Supervise and lead a team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
• Inspect and troubleshoot diesel generators, ensuring all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment service history, spare parts inventory, and work orders.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement of spare parts and specialized services.
• Implement cost control measures, optimize resources, and maintain workshop efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports and update management on operational status, issues, and improvement plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive Engineering or relevant field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in diesel generator maintenance, including 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, and associated control systems.
• Familiarity with workshop management, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Experience in inventory management and procurement of technical equipment.
