Junior Production Engineer

Description

Job Purpose:

To oversee and optimize the fabrication production process, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing of metal components, structures, and assemblies in compliance with industry standards and company specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Control:

Develop and execute production plans to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Monitor daily fabrication activities and ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

Coordinate with design, procurement, and quality teams for smooth workflow.

Fabrication Process Management:

Supervise fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, bending, and assembly.

Ensure adherence to welding procedures, codes, and standards (ASME, AWS, etc.).

Implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare daily/weekly production reports for management.

Maintain accurate records of material usage, labor hours, and production output.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in fabrication production, preferably in structural steel, pressure vessels, or heavy engineering.

Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.

Familiarity with standards like ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.

Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and fabrication layouts.

Knowledge of production planning tools and ERP systems (preferred).

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
