Country Manager/ Director  - India Country Manager/ Director - India Sales & Marketing






 Roles, Responsibilities & Duties


  • Statutory responsibility for the assigned legal entity/ties and their staff in the country.
  • Representation of the company on local Government level and within local business circles
  • Permanent monitoring of local market trends and identification of business opportunities
  • Portfolio expansion initiatives in coordination R-EVP, B-EVP’s and their global, regional & local teams & ensuring cross Business Stream joint market representation
  • Explore any cross business opportunities or opportunities not covered by current business activities
  • Coordination with the LSMs and LSCs in the respective country to foster a high-performing work culture that attracts and retain top talents, promotes innovation, accountability and customer focus and encourages collaboration and synergies between Operations and Service Functions within the country.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and cohesiveness across all Business/Central Units to ensure delivery of Country strategy and targets.
  • Enabling efficient Service Function delivery in the country; takeover the role as Local Officer (LO) if the position in any of the following Service Functions in the country does not exist or is not occupied; Legal, Communications, HSE, Real Estate Management, QM, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Disciplinary, technical and budget responsibility for administrative staff / and locally led Service Functions allocated to the respective country (unless managed by MD).
  • Consideration and implementation of statutory, regulatory requirements/regulations and local customs; adherence to and implementation of corporate guidelines and regulations)
  • Responsible for the central sales organization in the country (if existing) and coordination of local Key Account Managers; ensuring compliance of global sales processes in the country.
  • With support from Regional Marketing, implement brand strategies to promote compnay brand in the Country.
  • Implementation and optimization of shared services and service functions on local level in coordination with R-EVP and MD’s.
  • Responsible for local adherence and implementation of corporate compliance principles and corporate culture.
  • Responsible for Real Estate Management of the assigned country.


Qualification and Requirement


  • Bachelor’s / Master degree in business administration, management or equivalent, preferably with financial Qualification.


  • English
  • German - would be an advantage





Professional Experience

  • 10 – 15 Years’ of management experience with a proven track record of leading teams to deliver the strategy and achieve targets.
  • Have had experience managing P & L of a business/company.
  • Very good experience and working knowledge of Sales, Business Development, Key Account Management
  • Experience of working in a key leadership role in a complex organization ideally in a financial organization/institution.
  • Experience of dealing with different cultures

(Ideal would be who has in the position of Regional CFO or Regional Sales or Business Development etc,).



Skill, Knowledge & Ability

  • Strong knowledge of finance & administrative processes
  • Project Management processes
  • Budgeting, team-building and time management
  • Regional expertise – Country Managers must also possess a deep understanding of their country’s local politics to enforce laws and regulations
  • Strategic planning –using research to develop brand strategies and implement them to promote company products and services
  • Effective communication skills with ability to influence decision making at all levels

Single assignments

Beside the above listed job duties special assignments have to be carried out based on the instructions of the direct superior. Those special assignments are usually connected to above listed activities or those assignments are a result of company policy.


The incumbent is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the assigned responsibilities, provided that such action is consistent with sound company and cost-effective practices and is consistent with position guidelines as outlined above.
