Health, Safety and Environment Internal Auditor - Abu Dhabi/Dubai Others
Job requirements; To implement the corporate HSE audit programme in specific regions and assist in training employees of HSE related topics.
Minimum qualifications; Professional qualification/recognition in health and safety, and/or environment.
Purpose of job
? The Internal Auditor Health Safety & Environmental is a corporate function that is responsible for the auditing, reporting and training on the Group’s HSE management system.
? To provide assurance through audit and training that the Group’s HSE management system is understood and adopted across the various regions and business streams. Audit reports are produced and actions are agreed with local management.
2 Main Responsibilities
? Conduct health safety and environmental audits on risk areas across the business providing recommendations and timely reporting.
? Conduct training to managers and employees on the topics and tools covered by the HSE management system.
? Maintain and seek continuous improvement in the Groups HSE Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in relation to current industry best practice and minimum statutory requirements.
? Ensure that the Health Safety Environmental Management System (HSEMS) supports all related HSE external accreditations and is maintained.
? Ensure that appropriate records are kept on behalf of the company.
? Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders including but not limited to, the EVP’s, MD’s, workers council, enforcement authorities (where applicable) the legal department and Human Resources.
? Bring to the attention of the Systems and Reporting Manager, Corporate HSE areas of concern and recommendations for improving HSE standards.
? Collect, compile and present to the Systems and Reporting Manager, Corporate HSE data on the company’s HSE performance.
? Maintain own level of knowledge and competency in relation to HSE management and responsibilities.
? Assist where necessary with tenders and presentations to external bodies. This will include but is not limited to the maintenance of the PQQ and ITT library.
3 Additional accountabilities.
? Act as the focal point for the corporate HSE management system within the area.
? Work with the Regional Officer HSE to ensure that HSE support is focused and concentrated in any areas of concern.
? Ensure that all significant safety critical information (Incidents, Alerts, notices and bulletins) are quickly and effectively briefed to the Group.
4 Required experience, knowledge, qualifications and training
? Hold a recognised HSE Audit qualification.
? Ability to work at all levels within a large corporate structure.
? Good knowledge and experience of statutory legislation and regulations.
? Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience of HSE auditing.
? Be familiar and conversant with ISO 14001 together with OHSAS 18000/45001 standards.
? Ideally hold a Health and Safety and/or Environmental Qualification together with membership of a Professional Bod.
? Ideally hold a recognised training qualification and have experience of delivering HSE training
? Good English skills.
? A full drivers licence.
